Kansas is genuinely hard-water territory and the extended-citric Iowa protocol is the operational baseline. Western Kansas wheat-belt wells and municipals require extended dwell (4-6 minutes) and citric-rinse finish as standard. The wind-erosion soil deposition during the May-through-August dry stretches is heavy and requires dry-brush pre-clear on east-facing residential. The wheat-harvest dust wave June-July is the heaviest single seasonal contaminant. The wheat-belt agricultural drift (April-June fertilizer and herbicide application, plus June-August wind-erosion soil deposition) is the dominant seasonal contaminant statewide.
